Demi Lovato’s beautiful tattoos
"You make me beautiful" and feathers: "It’s one of my favourite songs ever. I got it because I was dealing with self-image issues. So I got it tattooed on me to look in the mirror every day and remind myself that I am beautiful. The words were so encouraging and lifted me through a really dark time in my life. It’s kind of a Christian tattoo, so for me, it’s religious, but it could be for anybody."
"Stay Strong", love heart and kiss mark: "The message is for me. It says "Stay Strong." So every day, no matter if I’m putting on my shoes or my make up, I see it everyday, to stay strong. It was very symbolic for me to be able to cover up my scars and also replace it with something else that’s permanent so that I’ll never be able to forget the support that I had when I went in to treatment."
"The journey that I went through and the support of my fans was so meaningful to me that I wanted to thank my fans in a way that I know can never be forgotten. So I went ahead and I got a little heart tattoo on my wrist. Together they say "Stay Strong" but this one has a heart, which is something my fans actually were drawing on their wrists while I was still in treatment, and some people even got tattoos of it. So I wanted to show you guys that I will never forget the support you guys gave me. And I will look at it everyday and remember you guys and be completely thankful for you."
"I got like a kiss mark, and it’s just like a friendship tattoo and also it kinda reminds me not to take myself too seriously. I got like a fun tattoo rather than all these ones that are so serious."
"faith" and flock of birds: A matching tattoo with her friend, whom she met in treatment. “I think it’s beautiful. I love it!”
Cross on hand: Demi told Ryan Seacrest that she got this tattoo because she is a devout Christian and wants her fans to see it clearly every time she holds up her microphone.
Feather behind ear: "I have feather behind my ear, and it honestly doesn’t mean anything. I just think it’s cute. It’s a light blue feather, but it looks more like a leaf, so I gotta fix it." Demi got this tattoo on the back of a bus at Warped Tour.
"Let go and let God": "It’s kinda my favourite life motto. Sometimes life can get so hard that you don’t really know what to do and you just gotta be like ‘Okay, take it from here cause I don’t know what I’m doing.’ to the man upstairs."
"Now I’m a warrior": "I have a song on my album called "Warrior" and it’s a very, very meaningful song to me. It’s really heavy, the lyrics, but it’s an inspirational song as well. It’s a negative thing turned positive. And I’ve been through a lot and I’m really honest on this album. This was a song that was very difficult for me to write, record and release. It was kinda like a tribute to releasing an album, as well as overcoming some really, really difficult things in my life."

Hi, I’m Lindsey. And this is my second tattoo.
Referencing 1 Peter 2:24, “by His wounds you are healed,” and Isaiah 53:5, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” “by His wounds I have been healed,” a beautiful statement that I do not deserve and will never get over. Jehovah Rophi, the Healer. Something I wanted to be reminded of daily.

One.
You see her for the first time and she’ll walk right past you like you are a crack in the wall and she is a skyscraper with her head so high in the air and when you can’t sleep you’ll think about the way her eyes strayed into yours for a moment too long before breaking away and disappearing into the crowd of people.

Two.
She’ll look both ways before telling you she loves you under her breath and when she hugs you her eyes scan the empty room as if the walls had eyes and ears and mouths that could give you away.

Three.
When she’s curled up on your lap shaking with mismatched breaths you’ll wonder how someone who looked like she carried mountains on her shoulders could crumble so easily in your arms like the tornado in her mind finally hit her and knocked her off her feet.

Four.
In half-light she’ll run her fingers over your arms like she is reading words carved into your skin, binding them together into the perfect metaphor and you’ll hear it playback in your head at 4am when your head runs wild with thoughts of her.

Five.
You’ll find a safe haven on rooftops and abandoned rooms where she’ll set fire to your insides with hushed breaths between kisses planted perfectly on your lips and make you wonder how dangerous it is to play with wild flames while your body is made of paper.

Six.
You’ll stare God right in the eye and tell him that if loving her was a sin then you want no place in heaven with him because the way her lips fit perfectly on your neck is a type of paradise you’ll never forget.

The six stages of falling in love with her. // by rb  (via splitterherzen)
